I love to tell stories. Whether it's a magazine feature telling the story of a person's life, an online article telling the story of a new movie, or a press release telling the story of a nonprofit's upcoming event, I enjoy learning the facts and finding the words to bring that story to life.
I’m a recent Syracuse University graduate living and working in New York City. Currently I am an editorial assistant at Adventure Publishing Group where I write for the Pop Insider and the Toy Insider and contribute to the toy industry magazine The Toy Book.
Prior to this job I had internship experience ranging from online media publications to small local nonprofits, giving me a wide skill set to apply to my position.
My passions include movies scores, exploring world religions, and finding perfect birthday gifts.

"At Neary's, It's Been St. Patrick's Day for
50 Years Straight"
I pitched a profile of this restaurant and its charismatic owner to Grub Street while working as a digital intern at New York magazine. This became my first published piece for New York.
Vulture.com
"All the Ways Netflix's 13 Reasons Why Is
Different From the Book"Â
I pitched the idea for this listicle to Vulture.com after learning that my favorite YA novel was becoming a television series. The article ran the day the series premiered, and my piece was the third-highest viewed article on Vulture.com in April 2017.
WashingtonPost.com
USAToday.com
"Bikini begone: How different religions deal with modesty at beaches, pools"
USA Today online and several online religion publications picked up this article I researched and wrote about conservative bathing attire.
The NewsHouse
"Life's a pitch for cornhole players"
I conducted dozens of interviews, both in person and via phone, and observed nearly 20 hours of cornhole practices and tournaments to report this piece on professional cornhole culture. After being published in The NewsHouse online magazine, the story won third place in the 2017 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication's Student Magazine Contest, Features category.

Communications Intern
My internship focused on promoting the implementation of the national Talk, Read, Sing early literacy initiative in Onondaga County. After evaluating the information sources most used by the target demographic, I launched an Instagram account for the program as well as a content calendar. This included regular weekly posts (Tuesday Tips, Thursday Thoughts and Friday Facts), for which I designed the graphics, as well as photos of ECA activities. I also designed promotional materials for the organization, including a brochure and a one-pager.

Senior Capstone
For my senior capstone project, I developed a website about religion on the Syracuse University campus. The site contains articles covering faith from the perspectives of academics, culture and important individuals within faith communities. The collection includes a variety of story types, from listicles and infographics to long-form profiles and news stories.
